Does it hurt?
Yes, but it isn’t any worse than getting the tattoo in the first place. If you’re very sensitive, numbing creams are available to help with the discomfort.

How fast will it be?
Your treatment time depends on many factors on the size, color, placement, age, depth, the type of ink used, and whether it was done professionally or not. A treatment session will usually last less than 30 minutes, depending on the size of your tattoo. Most people need between 3-6 treatments to get full clearance.

When can I have my next session?
Your body needs time to remove the ink after your treatment. We recommend leaving 6 weeks in between appointments.

Will it leave a scar?
After a treatment session, you will be given care instructions and asked to keep your tattoo out of the sun. If you follow these instructions, you will experience minimal, if any, scarring.

Why is there white stuff on my tattoo?
Immediately after treatment, nitrogen bubbles will form on the surface of your skin. Known as “frosting,” this is temporary and should disappear soon after a treatment session.

Where can tattoos be removed from?
Anywhere that you can put a tattoo, we can remove a tattoo.

I’ve heard darker skin colors can’t be treated with lasers. Is that true?
Our office uses the most advanced laser platform available, and we can safely treat people of any skin color. With many other systems, this is not possible.

Will it work on all of the colors of my tattoo?
We use the most advanced laser platform that can target all of the tattoo colors. Some pigments have not responded very well to the traditional laser treatments, but our latest machines have shown to be very effective with green, blue, purple, red, orange, yellow, and of course, black.

Does it really work?
Yes, it really works. Laser tattoo removal is safe and effective, and picosecond technology makes our treatments work better than most other laser platforms. Read more about our laser system and watch a video of an actual treatment procedure here.

How much will it cost?
The cost of tattoo removal depends on many factors, including size, location, age, and pigments used. You will receive an estimate during your consultation with Dr. Rhee.
